Senior Logistician - Washington D.C.

Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Logistician will provide comprehensive logistics and sustainment support for Military Construction (MILCON), Installation Communication Grid (ICG), and associated infrastructure initiatives in support of Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM). This role requires an experienced professional responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing equipment lifecycle activities to ensure operational readiness and mission success.

The Senior Logistician will support maintenance planning, sustainment strategies, and fielding/deployment logistics while coordinating closely with program managers, engineers, and operational stakeholders. This position plays a key role in ensuring that equipment and systems are properly delivered, maintained, and sustained throughout their lifecycle in alignment with Marine Corps requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide equipment lifecycle support, including planning, tracking, and management from procurement through sustainment and disposal
  • Support maintenance planning activities, including development of maintenance schedules, procedures, and documentation
  • Assist in sustainment planning to ensure long-term operational readiness and supportability of equipment and systems
  • Coordinate equipment inspections, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation of inspection results
  • Provide logistics support for fielding and deployment activities, including coordination of equipment delivery, staging, and installation
  • Track and manage equipment inventories, status, and accountability records
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely availability of equipment, parts, and resources
  • Support development of logistics documentation, including plans, reports, and standard operating procedures
  • Assist in identifying logistics risks and developing mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering and program teams to ensure logistics considerations are integrated into system design and deployment
  • Support supply chain coordination and material readiness activities
  • Provide status reporting and updates to program leadership on logistics activities and equipment readiness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics, sustainment, or supply chain management within federal or defense programs
  • Experience supporting equipment lifecycle management and sustainment planning
  • Familiarity with maintenance planning processes and equipment readiness tracking
  • Experience coordinating inspections and logistics activities for fielded systems
  • Knowledge of Department of War (DoW) logistics processes and Marine Corps sustainment practices
  • Experience supporting deployment or fielding logistics activities
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple logistics activities simultaneously
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Active Secret clearance required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Marine Corps installations or MCICOM programs
  • Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure or Installation Communication Grid (ICG) equipment and systems
  • Experience with logistics management systems or asset tracking tools
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Experience supporting field operations or expeditionary environments
  • Knowledge of supply chain risk management and sustainment best practices
